Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why do I need to test my pool's pH balance?
A: Regular testing of your
pool water's pH level prevents issues that can lead
long-term problems such as corrosion of filters, metal
equipment and general plumbing. Q: Why is my pool's water cloudy?
A: Cloudy water can be
caused my many things including high pH, high calcium
hardness, early algae growth, improper
filtration/circulation. Also, water may become cloudy
because of matter such as suntan lotion, body oils, urine,
etc., which are unfilterable substances. Q: My pool water is green/brown. What's the problem?
A: The water most likely
turned green or brown because of algae growth. Algae has
begun to grow because your pH level is not correct, which
decreases the effectiveness of your chlorine and filter
system. Q: Why is "shocking" my pool beneficial?
A: Periodically shocking your
pool will help prevent the buildup of chlorine, organic wastes and
algae blooms. Routine shocking can also make up for haphazard
chlorination. Q: What is Deck-O-Seal® and why is it important?
A: Deck-O-Seal®
is a basic joint sealant compound. It can be used for the general
caulking of joints and seams both above and below water. It is very
resilient, firm, flexible and tear-resistant. Deck-O-Seal®
has excellent resistance to all weather conditions, aging and
shrinkage. |
